Foxtail Millet Rice Recipe

Making Foxtail Millet Rice is the simplest way to transition into a healthy diet.

Discover Foxtail Millet, a native grain of Bharat, gluten-free, high in fiber and with low-GI, an excellent replacement for white rice.

Because it is unpolished, it retains all its natural fiber, ensuring you stay "full for long" and your metabolism stays active. 


Procedure: 

  • Soak "Foxtail Millet" for 1-2 hours.

  • Wash it well

  • Drain out excess water and wash the millet. Now add fresh water as per prescription

  • Empty the contents of the bowl in a pan

  • Heat a pan, add ghee, cumin let it splutter, add foxtail millet

  • Stir, add water, salt, cover cook on low to medium heat

  • Stir after 5-7 minutes, cover and cook for approx. 10 minutes

  • Millets will absorb all the water.it is fluffy and soft ready to eat with your favorite curry.


Suggestion- Cooked millet can be made into Millet Lemon Rice, Millet Puliogare, Millet Payasam, Millet BisiBeleBhath or Millet Fried Rice.
