Kodo Millet Idli Recipe

Creating Kodo Millet Idlis – the fermented way, is a perfect way to align with the Radix Nutritive® mission of a "Food Conscious Society."

 

These idlis are naturally gluten-free, and have a lower glycemic index compared to traditional rice idlis. 


Procedure:

  1. Wash and soak "Kodo Millet Rava" and Urad Dal in water for 4-5 hours (summer months), else (6 to 8 hours), separately 

  2. Grind Urad Dal smoothly and add Kodo Rawa

  3. Mix them well and add salt to form Idli batter

  4. Ferment the batter overnight

  5. Pour the batter in Idli moulds and steam them for 20-30 mins

  6. Enjoy delightful Kodo Millet Idlis with your favorite chutneys and sambar !!! 


NOTE: Instead of Kodo Millet Rava, we can also also use "Jowar Rava", "Foxtail Millet Rava", "Browntop Millet Rava in similar proportions as mentioned above.
